Most people know about diffusing Lavender to help them sleep, but there are also other oils which are great as part of your bedtime routine. Cedarwood and rosemary are two of my favourites!
Cedarwood oil is well known for it’s sleep inducing benefits being a natural sedative. It works by stimulating release of serotonin in the brain which converts into melatonin for a restful sleep. Melatonin is the most powerful natural remedy for restoring both quality and quantity of sleep. It improves the length of time the body sustains deep, stage 4 sleep – the time when the immune system and growth hormone production reaches it’s maximum.
I love Rosemary for it’s purifying properties. Living in London takes it’s toll, what with the high levels of pollution and all the ‘bugs’ that go around, especially in winter. That’s why, when I get home, Rosemary is one of my favourite go to oils!
Did you know?
Back in the day, hospitals used to use Rosemary to disinfect the air.
Remember to use essential oils that are 100% pure, high quality therapeutic grade oils. This means that the oil is distilled and bottled in such a way that it maintains it’s integrity and active properties which provide the benefits. This is the primary reason we only use Young Living essential oils.
